PA Lobby Day

On June 5th, SEIU members and our community partners came together in Harrisburg to tell our legislators that they need to support a budget that works for working families in PA and not just corporations.  PAJB members from Delta Dental, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Allentown school district, Bethlehem school district, Majestic, Reading school district, and our retirees all participated.  We are fighting against the cuts in House Bill 218 which includes cuts to Medical Assistance, child care, education, mental health, and corrections.  We are fighting for a budget that provides the resources we need to improve the lives of those in PA.

The day started with a rally in the capitol rotunda that energized participants to take our fight to the legislators.  Our members met with multiple legislators and shared our stories with them.  We also had a rally throughout the streets of Harrisburg for a fair budget that took our message to various corporate special interests.

We will continue to demand that corporate special interests end their opposition to budget that puts working families first.  We need to stay vigilant to ensure our legislators listen and work on behalf of the 99%.
