Pink Hands of Hope

Our Pa Joint Board, Workers United, union brothers and sisters at Delta Dental have successfully accomplished a community project that benefits those survivors and patients battling cancer.

Pink Hands of Hope is a local thrift store that donates all proceeds to local women who are currently being treated or have survived breast cancer. They have a no-cost room for women where they can get wigs of all colors, lengths and styles, books, shawls that have been prayed over by local churches, hats, scarves, jewelry, shampoo, nice soaps, blankets, socks, journals, neck pillows,  and so much more.  The thrift store also helps men fight prostate cancer.

In addition to the free room items, once a month, a woman is picked up in a Lincoln Town Car, she is given flowers, and taken out for the day. If she has hair, they get her hair done, if she has a wig, they get her wig done, she gets a facial and her nails done, anything to make her feel beautiful when she normally may not.

Pink Hands of Hope also does an annual Bald and Beautiful fashion show. They have a fashion show where the ladies walk a “Pink Carpet” and the fashion show isn’t to showcase the clothes, it’s to showcase these amazing women and their fight and beauty.
