On August 2nd Governor Wolf toured Delta Dental after being invited by Workers United. Governor Wolf was impressed by the work the claims department does. He toured the Ritter Road building, and Kelli Trent explained the 2 operation areas, Claims & Call Center.
Many things were discussed during the visit. David Melman, Joint Board Manager, expressed a thanks for Wolf’s support for stopping Right to Work laws in PA which we call No Rights at Work. Kellie highlighted how our Union contract protects members who need job transfers and contains language on Metrics to make sure members are not unfairly disciplined.
Another union member Kathi Pifer thanked Governor Wolf for voting on a bill to preserve the land for farmers in Cumberland County.
The visit that the members got from Governor Wolf was a great experience and will not to be forgotten. The members spoke freely about the struggles and triumphs of being union. They spoke to him about how important it is to be in a union when so many companies are outsourcing this type of work.
