Steve Remel is a 24 year veteran of Majestic/Fanatics Distribution Center, which is the only company he has ever worked for. Majestic/Fanatics manufactures all of the Major League Baseball players’ onfield uniforms, as well as distributes licensed sports apparel to numerous retail locations. Steve is a proud union member, originally a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. He has been a shop steward in his workplace for over 15 years and is currently part of the Bargaining Committee negotiating on behalf of his coworkers for a fair contract with the company.
“He is an excellent shop steward,” says Nancy Cassidy, the Majestic/Fanatics workers’ union representative, “he does a great job of taking care of problems when he can and seeking support when necessary.”
“Whenever I need help, Steve does a great job of supporting me and giving me advice,” says Jerilyn Smith, a PAJB member in manufacturing who has been working at the plant for 17 years.
Steve and the rest of the Bargaining Committee have been working hard to negotiate a fair contract with their employer, we wish them luck!
