Harrisburg -- The SEIU Pennsylvania State Council today announced its endorsed slate for the PA Court races.
“In 2015, SEIU members put their blood, sweat and tears into electing a pro-worker PA Supreme Court, and since then have seen time and time again that COURTS DO MATTER when it comes to the most important issues facing working families. In 2023, we are prepared once again to send worker-minded judges to our Supreme and Appellate Courts,” said Gabe Morgan, President of the SEIU Pennsylvania State Council and Vice President of SEIU 32BJ.
After a worker-driven interview process, SEIU has endorsed the following champions:
- For Supreme Court: Daniel McCaffrey
- For Superior Court: Timika Lane and Jill Beck
- For Commonwealth Court: Brian Neff
“Over the last eight years, the Supreme and Appellate Courts have ruled on everything from making sure that homecare workers have the right to organize, to the drawing of fair legislative and congressional districts and protecting every Pennsylvanian’s right to vote, to protecting paid sick leave laws, to ensuring that the state meets its constitutional requirements to make sure each child has access to a fairly funded education,” said Matthew Yarnell, Secretary Treasurer of the State Council and President of SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania. “We need strong courts that will stand strong for union members and working families.”
